Bipolar disorder

razmak dr vorobjev

Bipolar disorder belongs to mood disorders and is also known as manic – depressive psychosis.

Violent mood swings and alternating episodes of depression and mania is symptomatic of this disorder.

Episodes of deep depression, dejection, and apathy are followed by episodes of mania, which are superseded by euphoria, energy, and excitement. Sometimes it happens that these moods are combined, even in one day. There are huge mood oscillations, much greater than those in people without this disorder. If episodes are severe, they hinder and prevent the person from living a normal life.

Bipolar disorder most commonly occurs in late adolescence or the twenties and is equally represented in both sexes.
